Saturday 14 June 2014

Lovely weekend at Art House in Leicester last week meeting lots of very nice people. Thanks to fellow artists and the visitors for the support and interest.
I have been recovering from the hard work by doing some drawing. The working title for this one is Lead us not into temptation....I can feel another series coming on.

Monday 2 June 2014

Four days to go to Art House - an abundance of great stuff to see in artists' houses in Leicester. There is even a dedicated bus service and a guided bike ride. I will be showing work at 12 Pendene Road.

Monday 26 May 2014

This is a bit of an etching that I am battling with. I am redoing the rest of the plate in an attempt to salvage it.

Monday 19 May 2014

An etching I did a while back from a series "Illustrations from an Unwritten Story", 15x20cm.

Monday 28 April 2014

Another etching in my Count Your Blessings series, 13x16cm. This is one I did a while ago and reworked. There are elements I like but I'm not sure it is entirely successful.

Monday 21 April 2014

No new prints this week so here is an old drawing which accurately portrays the kind of week I've had.

Monday 14 April 2014

My new artist's book "Pole Dancing" is now finished. It is digitally printed; has 28 pages including the cover; is 21cm x 14.8cm; and is an edition of 100. I will be showing it later in the year at various book art fairs and exhibitions. It comes with a nice little protractor so you can interact with it.

Monday 7 April 2014

This is an etching I did a few years ago as part of a series "13 Illustrations for an Unwritten Story". I used a bit of an old law book for the Chine-collé and there is a bit of aquatint and soft ground in there as well. The image is 15x20cm.

Monday 31 March 2014

I have been invited to contribute to the 2014 box set for www.impresionesgigantes.com so I have made this new linocut, "The Shaggy Beast of La Ferté-Bernard", 18x18cm. It is another being inspired by Borges's "The Book of Imaginary Beings".

Monday 24 March 2014

This is the latest in my "Count your blessings" series. It is now available on my Etsy shop

Monday 17 March 2014

No new prints finished this week so I'm posting these images which I did last year for Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion. There were 18 images in all which I had to finish in about three weeks. It was intense but I was happy with the result.

Monday 10 March 2014

A shot from our Half Cut exhibition at Stour Space in Hackney Wick. This is the work of Sean Starwars who makes wonderful and vibrant woodcuts.

Another in the "Count your blessings" series, also 13x16cm.

Monday 3 March 2014

I am working on a series of small etchings called "Count your blessings", 13x16cm. I'm not happy with the quality of this print so I'll be reprinting it later this week.

The Rainbird, 25x30cm. This is one of three of my linocuts on show Open 25 at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester. These are part of my series inspired by the Book of Imaginary Beings by Jorge Luis Borges. The exhibition includes interesting work by artists from the East Midlands, is free and runs until the 27th April. The New Walk Gallery has a beautiful collection of Picasso ceramics.
