Last week I went to see Mark Andrew Webber's solo show in Redchurch Street where he was printing his giant map of Berlin. Extraordinary work. |

Lovely weekend at Art House in Leicester last week meeting lots of very nice people. Thanks to fellow artists and the visitors for the support and interest.
I have been recovering from the hard work by doing some drawing. The working title for this one is Lead us not into temptation....I can feel another series coming on.

This is an etching I did a few years ago as part of a series "13 Illustrations for an Unwritten Story". I used a bit of an old law book for the Chine-collé and there is a bit of aquatint and soft ground in there as well. The image is 15x20cm.

I have been invited to contribute to the 2014 box set for www.impresionesgigantes.com so I have made this new linocut, "The Shaggy Beast of La Ferté-Bernard", 18x18cm. It is another being inspired by Borges's "The Book of Imaginary Beings".

No new prints finished this week so I'm posting these images which I did last year for Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion. There were 18 images in all which I had to finish in about three weeks. It was intense but I was happy with the result.

The Rainbird, 25x30cm. This is one of three of my linocuts on show Open 25 at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester. These are part of my series inspired by the Book of Imaginary Beings by Jorge Luis Borges. The exhibition includes interesting work by artists from the East Midlands, is free and runs until the 27th April. The New Walk Gallery has a beautiful collection of Picasso ceramics.
